ART & THE ENVIRONMENT


Week 2 (July 5th - July 8th)

We love the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean! In this week campers make art projects reflecting on the importance of water and the consequences of human activity on our watershed and on the ocean. From individual work to group installations, they will explore various techniques including mini-landscaping, shadow theater, graphic design basics, photography and video.

Week Schedule
Day 1:
  • Make a Terrarium
  • Symbols about Water (a pattern/ graphic design exploration that results in a collaborative mural made of paper tiles)
  • Poster Design: Watershed & Pollution Awareness

  • A Window on to the Sea: Small Shadow Box about the Ocean

  • Large Shadow Box: a short story about the ocean (moving elements added with slow moving motor)
