Summer 2024 Art & Design Thinking Camp
Who: Entering 6th through 8th grade students.
What: Full Day Project-Based Day Camp
Where: Ocala STEAM Academy
2800 Ocala Ave
San Jose CA 95148
When: From June 17 to July 26, 2024 (there is no camp on June 19 and July 4 & 5)
This is an all day camp from 9am to 3pm daily, except on Fridays when camp ends at 4:30pm
A Student Showcase is held every Friday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
ALL CAMPERS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOWCASE.
Cost: Alum Rock School District students attend at no cost (Registration Verification required)
Other San Jose Residents - $100 per week
Non-Residents - $500 per week.
Scholarships are available for students who qualify for the
Free/Reduced Lunch Program.
Registration is limited to 20 students per session. Registration must be confirmed by the Thursday before each session start date. Late registrations are not accepted.
This year’s program will include six, 1-week sessions and will be presented in-person. Materials will be provided for all activities in the classroom. Each session has a different theme and the camp day is divided into two parts - Focused Learning and Tinker Time .
All campers must be dropped off and picked up daily.
Weekly Camp Sessions Themes:
Week 1 - June 17 - 21 (no camp on June 19th): STEAM Smorgasbord
Week 2 - June 24 - 28: The Art of Comics
Week 3 - July 1 -3 (no camp on July 4 & 5): Up-Cycled Art
Week 4 - July 8 - 12: Art & Nature
Week 5 - July 15 -19: UnStuffies
Week 6 - July 22 - 26: Sculpting With Air
You may select up to 6 weeks when registering your child. Each student requires a separate registration form.
