Tuesday (June 10th): Circuitry Day
Instructor: Lauren Cage
9:00 am Housekeeping and intros
● Introductions
● Classroom expectations
● Rundown of activities for the day
9:10 am Ice Breaker activity: Circuits are Everywhere
● Campers will call out what items in their homes need power (plug-ins, batteries, etc).
● Compile a list on the board.
● Ask campers what these items have in common (they all use a circuit to give the item power)
9:20 am Slides: Intro to Circuitry
9:35 am Interactive Storyboarding
A storyboard is a visual map or layout. Many kinds of storytellers (filmmakers, etc.) use storyboarding to organize and plan out the structure of their story.
Our storyboard is going to go a step further by being interactive. Punch an LED through the storyboard where you want a light and follow the instructions on the back to build your copper tape circuit.
Materials: Interactive Storyboards (on cardstock, both sides), pencils, markers/colored pencils, copper tape, LEDs, coin batteries

Material: copper tape, electrical tape (multiple colors), coin batteries, 3/8" x 12” wooden dowels and gumdrop LEDs, assorted decorative items, scissors, glue guns and sticks, rulers, styrofoam balls

12:45 pm Transition into Tinker Time: brief reflection in Maker Journal
1:00 pm TINKER TIME Intro to Tinker Journal
